Rest Ashore - Accessible beach home in Gulf Shores, Alabama

Rest Ashore was inspired by our daughter, who uses a wheelchair, and every detail reflects a commitment to ease, dignity, and independence. The main-level master suite is accessible, featuring built-in patient lifts, a king-size adjustable bed positioned at an optimal 31” height with 9” clearance for assistive devices, and wide 35” doorways with convenient pocket doors throughout. The en-suite bathroom includes an extra-large roll-in shower with a bench, roll-under cabinetry, and even a bidet for added comfort.

Accessibility continues outside with a zero-entry front door and an outdoor lift, ensuring seamless access from arrival to relaxation. Underneath the home there is an additional LRT bar for transferring into a beach wheelchair if needed.  We also have an outdoor shower for rinsing off the sand from the beach. Upstairs, guests will find three additional bedrooms: a king suite with a tiled shower, a queen room with a tub/shower combo, and another queen room with a tiled shower. In total, Rest Ashore comfortably sleeps up to 12 guests.

Beyond accessibility, the home is packed with amenities to elevate your stay. Enjoy a fully stocked kitchen, full-size washer and dryer, baby-friendly features like gates and a pack n’ play, and plenty of beach gear for sunny days by the shore.
